The ZENDOME.20 Home-Edition played a major role at the mobile Film and Environmental Festival 'Moving Baltic Sea' which sailed into the ports of six coastal towns between Rostock and St. Petersburg in July and August of 2008.
The European Tour was organised by Moviemiento Berlin and at each stop presented international short films and discussed environmental issues for four days as well as encouraging the networking of young film makers.
As a central point for information and meeting, the ZENDOME attracted interested people even during its construction. “The multifunctional ZENDOME was used as a café, workshop and exhibition space, as a living room and relaxed meeting point. It became a kind of a little home for the festival crew as well as the visitors and protected us from too much sun and rain during the festival”, reports Misja Goossens of Moviemiento.
Also, the ZENDOME.20 Home.Edition served as a perfect projection space for Vjs during the parties with local artists and musicians. Right until the festive closing event in St. Petersburg 'Moving Baltic Sea' enthralled an international crowd and offered a offered an exciting program made up of films from Baltic countries, Open-Air-Screenings, creative seminars as well as numerous podium discussions.
Misja Goossens bottom line: “The ZENDOME not only presented the branding of the Festival but was also a beautiful visual attraction. Also the construction with changing teams was fun every time – a great space developed with intelligence and lots of love! Sometimes, I still miss the great feeling of screwing the last screw tight in the top of the dome.”
