The ZENDOME.150M announced the Triathlon World Championship 2007 straight from the ‘Jungfernstieg’ at the Binnenalster: Upsolut Event positioned the ZENDOME in the middle of Hamburg on a floating pontoon.
Two lasers with 360° of lighting action realized the illuminating concept by Frank Dauer and Roman Mundhenk: Forms and Figures where part of the impressive laser show on the cupola of the swimming arena that was made available to the organizers by Kugelblitz/ GabiDom.
But more than that, the ZENDOME.150M revved up the centre of the city for the upcoming sporting event with illuminated signs that where projected onto the cupola every evening for three hours and counted down the hours to the begin of the Championships. “This way we want to increase the euphoria and anticipation of the Hamburg citizens”, says Frank Bertling, managing director for Upsolut Event.
The concept worked: the World Championship turned out to be the largest event in Triathlon history. Nearly 9000 athletes from 72 countries took part from the 30th of August to the 2nd of September in the Hanseatic City.
